FNSI Tonight!

A glass of wine, a couple of new CDs, my sewing machine and me have a date tonight.

I've got my heart set on making a couple of new things for myself, preferably out of wool jersey.  Wool because the cold weather here in New England has set in with a vengeance, and jersey because it's such a pleasure to work with knits -- everything always seems to go together fast and easy when I'm sewing knits with the serger and coverstitch.

I'd like to make 1 or 2 versions of Simplicity 2852.  But I also want a hooded sweater using Kwik Sew 3037.  This pattern is out of print, but I really like it.  I made a knit jersey version of this last year (reviewed here) and I wear it all the time.  I have the coziest charcoal wool knit for making a toasty warm sweater, and I haven't had a new sweater in a really long time (I think my last new sweater was bought two years ago from Marshall's, made in Ireland and cost me 50 bucks).

So, I'm going to make something from one of these patterns.  Or maybe things will go so smoothly that I'll make one of each.  A girl can hope, right?

  1. Trinity, I love that Simplicity pattern. It looks like the 70s, an era close to my heart :-) Did you use it or the KS?

  2. Mary, I ended up coming down with a cold on Friday night and so, sadly, I did neither. *sigh*
