Silly as it may seem, I use stickers to mark my fabric sometimes, rather than chalk or any other kind of marking pen.  Stickers are great for marking which is the right and wrong sides of the fabric, and if you've got colored ones like these you can use them to match up seams in complicated construction projects.  As long as you don't leave them on too long stickers don't generally leave a gooey mark on the fabric, but I wouldn't put one on the right side, fold up the fabric, and forget about it for a year
